Did you know about 14 high school students from the East Orange STEM Academy High School earned their FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone Pilot certification after successfully completing a training program that was facilitated by ADUSA instructors?
As a class, these students earned a nickname from ADUSA instructors: The Fabulous 14.
Thanks to funding from the East Orange Summer Youth Employment Program, the graduates applied what they learned during an internship. Alpha’s Qualifications and Internship Program is a supervised workforce experience where interns gained practical, hands-on experience.
Over the summer, they participated in several special assignments in East Orange. If you were in East Orange this summer, you may have seen them cleaning municipal buildings, the local library, and spraying at the golf course.
According to Kelvin King, Founder and CEO of Alpha Drones USA, “These students are poised for greatness. We believe in these graduates and we’re grateful that the City of East Orange gave our company an opportunity to provide this training program to these future leaders.”
Congratulations, Graduates! The sky is the limit.
