Reports To: Business Development Manager / Hub Director
Non-Exempt / Entry-Level Seasonal Internship
Position Overview
Alpha Drones USA is seeking motivated Business Development & Technical Operations Interns for a hands-on, 12.5-hour-per-week seasonal internship running from January through April. Tailored for Aviation High School students in New York City and Washington, D.C., this entry-level program provides real-world experience at the intersection of commercial drone technology and business growth.
This role rests on a fundamental principle: everyone in an organization has a commitment to sell. Interns will learn core business development strategies alongside practical technical drone operations—gaining direct experience in sales outreach, service execution, community event management, and standard operating procedure (SOP) development.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Event Creation & Sales Execution: Plan, coordinate, and execute community-based drone initiatives where you will directly learn and practice selling commercial drone services.
- Direct Field Campaigning: Participate in structured sales drives (including intensive multi-week neighborhood campaigns) offering fixed-price residential drone cleaning services—such as roof, solar panel, and facade cleaning.
- Sales Curriculum & SOP Development: Help document sales experiences and create training curriculum/materials teaching Alpha Drones USA’s Sales Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to future cohorts.
- Technical Operations Integration: Work alongside technical flight teams to understand how commercial drone applications (cleaning, inspection, and imaging) translate into client value and service offerings.
- Lead Generation & Market Outreach: Research prospective local property owners, commercial managers, and community stakeholders within designated hub sub-markets.
- Pipeline & Event Tracking: Assist hub leadership in managing outreach, logging customer interactions, and coordinating logistics for local flight demonstrations and community workshops.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Academic Status: Current student at Aviation High School (or local partner vocational/aviation school).
- Availability: Able to commit to 12.5 hours per week from January through April in either New York City or Washington, D.C.
- Core Mindset: Eager to learn entry-level business development, customer engagement, and technical drone service operations.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal skills; comfortable speaking with prospective clients, community members, and team leaders.
- Team Orientation: Strong reliability, organization, and a shared commitment to driving company growth through active sales support.
